Space Ship One by Prorogue Space Ship One by Prorogue
Press DOWLOAD for different viewing angles and several schematics! (RAR format)

(Vaguely EVE-inspired, my first ship design. Created in more or less a day.)

The Minnow started out life as a Gigas™ shuttle designed for short transport missions in orbit, or as a taxicab in large stations. This particular shuttle was bought and then retrofitted as a smuggling vessel, upgraded with numerous electronics and a rudimentary radar cloaking system.

The Minnow's next owner had larger plans, and used the shuttle as a cabin, attaching it to an old Navy scout ship engine, utilizing its small size and huge thrust to reach very high speeds and outrun pursuers.

Over its lifespan, the Minnow has seen many improvements, including two electronics modules, one of which is contraband in most solar systems. It was later equipped with a single 250mm artillery cannon, a munitions size that is illegal for non-military personnel.

The Precision Targeting System equipped to the side of the ship (visible above), combined with the 250mm artillery cannon allows the Minnow to fire very accurately at large distances.

In its current state, the Minnow is an extremely agile ship, complete with a full array of maneuvering jets allowing it to make complete turns in seconds, and even strafe sideways to avoid projectiles.

My friend, who plays EVE with me, told me once that Gallente or Caldari ships are what we want space-ships to look like when we start making them, but Minmatar ships are what they will look like.

To be blunt, aside from the megathron, most gallente ships are curvy ugly... and most caldari are too right angled. "The armor plates are hard to curve" says CCP. I don't see why they just can't stagger smaller ones. And the symmetry, or rather lack there of, on Gallente and Caldari drives me nuts... Which is why I like (most) amarr ships. Coercer FTW! And the abbadon looks amazing when firing. The inties aren't bad either.
